My sister Jeanne , The Photographer with her trusty Yashica ( which I still have)

I remember when I was a child tagging along with my sister on her photographic quest of Baltimore City. She would photograph very unusual objects. She would photograph man hole covers and do a series of displays with them. They were quite beautiful. In older cities the buildings are quite ornate. I remember all of the different angles she would shoot from and capture amazing things. Her photographs of people were the best. She captured on film the faces of the time, be it children or elderly people. All of this in black and white film. My sister went on to become a very accomplished photographer and holds a Doctorate in Art and Art History. She is also a Master Painter. I wasn't interested much in her photography, I just liked to tag along.

I became interested in photography about 10 years ago with the help of my generous step son Richard and began the journey into the photography world. I do a lot of Macro work with flowers. I sent some of the photos to my sister for her critique and she was amazed at what her "Little sister" had done. I had to have her approval as she was the master.Last week I decided to to try some black and whites of the inner city of Reno. While I was shooting I was reminded of the jaunts with my sister and started using some of her techniques that I was able to recall.
It was a lot of fun and I hope you like my take on Black & White Reno
